English Version
In Tarao, Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, there is a site said to be the remains of an Edo-period execution ground.
Although the area has been properly maintained as a historic site, eerie rumors continue to surround it. Some visitors claim to have seen figures wearing armor, while others speak of headless spirits believed to be the ghosts of criminals who were executed there.
According to local stories, people who experience paranormal phenomena at the site may later suffer accidents or misfortune. These accounts remain rumors, but they have helped give the Tarao Execution Ground Site a reputation as one of the more unsettling historical spots in the area.
If you visit, treat it as a historic place: follow posted rules, avoid restricted areas, and be respectful of the site and the local community.
