English Version

Arigatayama is said to be a haunted spot in Inagi, Tokyo, where viewers reportedly heard groaning voices during a livestreamed visit by ghost-spot explorers.

There is also a rumor that if you put your hands together in prayer for the unclaimed dead here, you may become possessed.

From 1940 to 1943, unclaimed graves and related remains from the Komagome area were relocated here for moral and religious reasons. Today, the site is said to contain more than 4,000 unclaimed graves.

Because of its unusual atmosphere and location, Arigatayama also has a history as a filming site, especially in the 1970s, when it was often used for ghost stories, summer horror programs, period dramas, and other productions.

The location is listed as 3157-2 Yanokuchi, Inagi, Tokyo. If you visit, be respectful: this is connected to the dead and to local religious history, so avoid trespassing, disturbing graves or offerings, filming people without permission, or visiting in a way that causes trouble for nearby residents.
