English Version

Yabitsu Pass, located along Kanagawa Prefectural Route 70 in Terayama, Hadano City, is known not only as a mountain road but also as a place tied to eerie local rumors.

Among the stories told about the area are claims that an old woman chases after cars from behind, that people walking there may feel their hands or feet grabbed, and that there is a certain curve mirror you should never look into. These are rumors rather than confirmed events, but they have helped give the pass a haunted reputation among urban legend fans.

The road is also known for a more concrete danger: reckless driving. Since the 1970s, the area has reportedly attracted many street racers, and fatal car and motorcycle accidents have occurred there over the years.

In addition, a body-dumping incident took place near an observation area along the road, adding to the dark image surrounding the pass.

If you visit Yabitsu Pass, treat it as a real mountain road first and a haunted spot second. Drive carefully, avoid stopping in unsafe places, do not trespass, and be especially cautious at night or in bad weather.
