English Version
Okhotsk Garden is a garden in Monbetsu, Hokkaido, associated with a quiet but unsettling local rumor.
Late at night, some people say the spirit of a woman appears near the large waterfall inside the garden. According to the story, a middle school girl once died by suicide at the waterfall, and reports of a female figure being seen there after midnight began circulating sometime afterward.
As with many haunted-place rumors in Japan, the details are unclear and should be treated as local folklore rather than confirmed fact. The location is listed around 8-chome 1-26 Hanazono-cho, Monbetsu, Hokkaido.
If you visit, go during posted hours, respect any closed or restricted areas, and avoid entering the garden late at night or in unsafe conditions.
