Doshobashi Bridge in Yokohama: Whispered Voices and Shadowy Figures

Taiwan’s Red Envelope Legend: Why Travelers Are Warned Not to Pick One Up

English Version

Doshobashi Bridge is a rumored haunted spot in Nagatsuta-cho, Midori Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

According to local stories, people who try to cross the bridge at night may hear a mysterious voice asking, “Where are you going?” There are also rumors that a human-like shadow sometimes appears in the lights of a hotel located very close to the bridge.

Other unsettling stories are connected to the area around the bridge. Some say there have been many fatal accidents on the nearby road, while others claim that a suicide once occurred in the woods close to the bridge.

As with many urban-legend locations, these accounts are rumors rather than confirmed facts. If you visit the area, be respectful of nearby businesses, private property, and local residents. Do not enter the woods or hotel grounds without permission, and take extra care around roads, especially at night.
