Akana Tunnel in Shimane: White-Clad Ghost Sightings and Roadside Rumors

Brainwashing Horror in Japan: When Mind Control Turns People Into Master and Servant
目次

English Version

Akana Tunnel, located in Kami-Akana, Iinan Town, Iishi District, Shimane Prefecture, is said to be a dangerous place with many reports of traffic accidents and ghost sightings.

One of the most commonly reported apparitions is the spirit of a young woman dressed in white. There are also rumors of an elderly woman clinging to the roof of a car, though these stories remain unverified.

Despite the number of sightings associated with the tunnel, the direct cause of the alleged paranormal activity has never been explained.

If you visit the area, treat it as an active roadway rather than a tourist attraction. Do not stop in unsafe places, enter restricted areas, or distract drivers while looking for haunted spots.
