Hotel Celine in Shinano, Nagano Prefecture, is known among ghost-story fans for repeated rumors of a woman’s ghost being seen on the property.
According to the local legend, a young woman was attacked by a violent assailant here and later took her own life. It is said that her spirit may still linger at the site, unable to move on.
There is also a darker story connected to the hotel’s parking lot. Rumors claim that a homeless person was assaulted there and ultimately burned to death. As with many haunted-place accounts, details are difficult to verify, but the story has become part of the location’s grim reputation.
Inside the hotel, visitors have described a disturbing painting of a pregnant woman. In the image, the woman’s face is reportedly blacked out, and a knife is shown stabbed into her swollen belly where the baby would be. Whether this is an intentional piece of horror-themed art, vandalism, or something else, it adds to the unsettling atmosphere surrounding the place.
Is the woman’s ghost still trapped here, unable to rest? Or are the stories the result of rumor, fear, and the hotel’s eerie appearance? Hotel Celine remains one of Nagano’s more infamous haunted-location legends.
