Bogasaka: A Red-Eyed Presence on a Nagoya Road

Does Nikko Toshogu Hide Akechi Mitsuhide’s Bellflower Crest? A Strange Kūkai Rumor
目次

English Version

Bogasaka is a road in Yoshino, Higashi Ward, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, where unsettling stories have reportedly been passed around.

According to local rumors, people walking here at night have felt as if someone—or something—was watching them. When they looked around, they allegedly saw a pair of red eyes staring silently back from the darkness.

The story is sometimes connected to a child who was said to have been abandoned by their mother in this area long ago. The child wandered through the woods searching for her, but eventually collapsed and died.

Some say the presence still roaming Bogasaka may be that child, continuing to search for its mother even now.

Bogasaka is associated with a real area around Yoshino 2-chome, Higashi Ward, Nagoya. If you visit, be respectful of residents and private property, stay on public roads, and avoid wandering alone at night.
