Kokokei House is said to be a place where visitors have reported encounters with several kinds of spirits: the ghost of an owner who allegedly died by suicide, the earthbound spirit of a woman from the Edo period, and countless wandering spirits said to linger on the property.
According to local rumors, the site was once connected to a mass food poisoning incident. After that, customers reportedly stopped coming, the business fell into financial ruin, and the owner is said to have taken his own life.
Some people speculate that the owner’s lingering regret may have drawn in other spirits, causing various apparitions to appear before those who come near.
