English Version
Arasaki Coast in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, is a scenic shoreline known for its rugged rocks and sea caves—but it also has a few unsettling rumors attached to it.
According to local stories, some visitors have claimed to hear the voice of a young man’s spirit in the area. One particularly strange account was introduced on the Japanese TV program Kiseki Taiken! Unbelievable. During filming inside a cave at this location, a mysterious voice allegedly saying “Rikako” was captured on audio.
There is also a story that in 1975, a young man took his own life here after suffering from heartbreak. As with many haunted-place rumors in Japan, the details are difficult to verify, but the tale continues to be connected with the atmosphere of the coast.
The caves at Arasaki Coast are also said to have been used as a filming location for the movie Ring, adding to the site’s reputation among J-horror fans.
Arasaki Coast is located around Nagai 6-chome, Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. If you visit, be careful around rocky areas, caves, cliffs, and changing tides. Follow posted signs, avoid restricted areas, and do not enter dangerous locations for the sake of urban-legend hunting.
