Kami-Horai Bridge in Fukushima City is surrounded by persistent ghost stories, many of them tied to rumors of suicides at the site.
Locals and visitors have reported unsettling experiences around the bridge, including claims that crying can be heard from beneath it, or that footsteps seem to follow people standing on the bridge at night. Others say they have felt a sudden chill or the distinct sensation of being watched.
There are also stranger stories: photos taken looking down from the bridge allegedly came out completely red, and some people claim to have seen a figure jumping from the bridge. Of course, in such cases, it may not be a ghost at all, but a real person in danger.
One especially eerie rumor says that if you walk across the entire bridge at night, you may find blood on your clothes afterward.
Kami-Horai Bridge is known within Fukushima Prefecture as a suicide spot, and the rumors say that many incidents have occurred there. If you visit, treat the area with respect, do not trespass, and avoid risky behavior—especially at night or near the edge.
