The former Kuwahara Training Center of the Japan BE Research Institute is said to have an unsettling reputation. Some visitors claim they feel suddenly ill there, while others report hearing unexplained knocking or cracking sounds, sometimes described as “rapping” noises.
The facility was reportedly used by the Japan BE Research Institute, led by Tetsuo Gyotoku, for self-development seminars. According to accounts, between 1971 and 1999 the organization held around 550 seminars here, with approximately 18,000 participants in total.
Its reputation as a haunted spot may be connected to the horror documentary series Honto ni Atta! Noroi no Video (It Really Happened! Cursed Videos). The location is said to have been visited during coverage related to an episode known as “The House of Necks,” which may have helped turn the site into a place of interest for ghost story fans.
