According to one rumor, if visitors explore while recording audio, strange voices sometimes appear on the recording. People claim the voices say things like, “This is the ___ floor,” or “Please come in,” as if inviting them deeper inside.
Another story says that if you take a photo of a third-floor window, the image may show a woman waving from inside. There are also claims that cars parked in front of the hotel have later been found with multiple handprints on the windows.
One of the darker rumors connected to the site says that, during the 1983 Sea of Japan earthquake, the hotel was used as a temporary morgue for tsunami victims. This remains a rumor, but it is often mentioned in connection with the hotel’s haunted reputation.
The reported location is in the Kitaura Yumoto area of Oga City, Akita Prefecture. If you visit the area, do not enter abandoned or restricted property. View only from safe, legal public areas and avoid disturbing local residents.
