Senshu Park in Akita City is said by some locals to be one of the places in the prefecture where spirits gather most strongly.
According to the rumors, even people with only a slight sensitivity to the supernatural may suddenly feel chills, nausea, or an ominous shiver while walking through the park. The older spirits believed to be there are not usually said to harm people. Instead, the concern is that the park’s spiritual atmosphere may attract the souls of people who have died more recently.
