In Chinen Yamazato, Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture, there is an abandoned house known in local rumor as the “House of the Seven Lucky Gods.”
People say a female spirit appears around the closet area, while the ghost of an elderly woman is said to appear beneath the stairs leading to the second floor.
The ruin is also tied to darker rumors. Some say a family suicide once took place there. Others claim that an escaped prisoner murdered the family who lived in the house. These stories remain rumors, but they have helped give the building its unsettling reputation.
According to local talk, figurines of the Seven Lucky Gods were enshrined there to memorialize or pacify the many misfortunes said to be connected to the house.
The interior is reportedly in a very decayed and dangerous condition. As with any abandoned property, travelers should not enter without permission, and should avoid unsafe structures or trespassing.
