What Is Nagakute Battlefield Park?
Nagakute Battlefield Park is a historic park in Musashizuka, Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture. Today, the park contains nationally designated historic remains, a scaled-down recreation of the old battlefield, and the Nagakute Local History Museum.
It is a popular spot for history fans, but it is also a familiar local park visited by families, children, and older residents.
The History of the Nagakute Battlefield
This area is remembered as the place where the forces of Hashiba Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu clashed.
In 1582, Oda Nobunaga was killed by his retainer Akechi Mitsuhide in the famous Incident at Honnoji. After Nobunaga’s death, the major question became who would succeed him. A struggle for power intensified among his heirs and retainers.
Hashiba Hideyoshi defeated Akechi Mitsuhide at the Battle of Yamazaki, then defeated Shibata Katsuie at the Battle of Shizugatake, steadily expanding his influence. Oda Nobukatsu, Nobunaga’s second son, felt threatened by Hideyoshi’s growing power and sought help from Tokugawa Ieyasu.
These tensions led to the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute. As noted in many accounts, this battle is known as the only direct clash between Hashiba Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.
The reported casualties were heavy:
- Hashiba forces: about 2,500 dead
- Tokugawa forces: about 550 dead
- Total: roughly 3,000 dead
Known as a Haunted Spot
Because so many lives were lost in the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, Nagakute Battlefield Park has also become known in local rumor as a haunted place.
Some stories claim that the spirits of defeated warriors who could not pass on still linger in the park. People have reportedly seen headless samurai, figures in armor walking through the grounds, and other warrior-like apparitions.
There are also rumors of spirits in more modern-looking clothing, not just old battlefield ghosts. Because of this, some people wonder whether many different kinds of spirits are said to wander the park.
Nagakute Battlefield Park is a real public park and historic site. If you visit, respect posted rules, stay in public areas, avoid disturbing memorials or historic remains, and do not enter closed areas or visit after hours.
Another Haunted Spot Nearby
There is another well-known haunted location near Nagakute Battlefield Park: Blood Pond Park.
According to local legend, the pond is connected to Minamoto no Yoritomo, a warrior known for his military strength. The story says that after Yoritomo was defeated, the sword used to kill him and his severed head were washed in the pond.
Because of legends like this, the surrounding area has gained a reputation for strange phenomena and urban legends. As with many haunted places in Japan, the stories are passed around as rumors, and they should be treated as folklore rather than confirmed fact.

長久手古戦場公園とは？。長久手古戦場公園（ながくてこせんじょうこうえん）とは、愛知県長久手市武蔵塚にある、歴史のある公園です。現在この公園には 国に指定されている貴重な史跡や縮景で再現した古戦場や長久手郷土資料室などがあります。。歴史好きにはたまらない公園となっています。それだけではなく、子連れからお年寄りに愛されている公園です。長久手古戦場の歴史。かつてこの場所では 羽柴軍と徳川軍が激突したという歴史が残っています。。大正10年（1582年）に織田信長が家臣であった明智光秀によって打たれました。
これが誰しもが知っている 本能寺の変 です。本能寺の変の後に一番問題になったのが「後継者問題」でした。遺児や家臣の間では後継者争いが激化し、中でも 羽柴秀吉は山崎の戦で明智光秀を打ち、賤ケ岳の戦いも柴田勝家を破り勢力を拡大していきました。。そんな、 羽柴秀吉の勢力の拡大を織田信長の次男である信雄は危機感を覚え徳川家康に助けを求めた のです。そういったことがあり 「 小牧・長久手の戦い」が起きた のです。。冒頭でも紹介した通り、 この戦いは羽柴秀吉と徳川家康が唯一激突した戦い なのです。
羽柴軍と徳川軍の戦死者数 羽柴軍の戦死者 ＝ 2500名。徳川軍の戦死者 ＝ 550名。合計 ＝3000名。心霊スポットとしても知られている。この公園は心霊スポットとして知られています。上記で紹介した「 小牧・長久手の戦い」によって数千以上の命が失われており、 成仏することができなかった落ち武者の霊 や 首の無い武士の霊 、 甲冑を着た人が歩いているところがたびたび目撃 されているそうです。。また落ち武者などの霊だけではなく 現代風の姿をした霊も目撃されている そうです。
この公園には様々な霊が彷徨っているとでもいうのでしょうか？。長久手古戦場公園の付近にも心霊スポットがある。歴史のある長久手古戦場公園の付近にはもう一つ有名な心霊スポットがあるのです。それが血の池公園です。長久手古戦場公園の付近 血の池 ｜ オカルトオンライン 。歴戦の猛者として知られている源頼朝。。しかし源頼朝は戦に敗れてしまいます。「血の池」にて 源頼朝を殺めた刀とその首を洗った池として知られている のです。こういうこともあり、この周辺では奇妙な現象が多数報告されたり、都市伝説が多く存在しているのです。
