Have you ever heard of the Gaia theory?
Not the famous documentary program—this Gaia theory is an idea supported by figures such as meteorologist Andrew Watson. In simple terms, it views Earth’s living things and environment as one vast living organism. In other words, everything on the planet is connected, influencing everything else.
It is also called the Gaia hypothesis, and in recent years it is often discussed in the context of ecology. But this is Scary Japan. Instead of looking at it only through an environmental lens, let’s take a more occult-minded approach.
Have Living Things Always Influenced One Another?
The idea that everything on Earth can be seen as “one living organism” is not impossible to understand. Still, it is natural to think: Earth has so many cultures, so many different people, so many separate worlds. Surely it cannot all be one thing.
And that is a fair reaction.
But according to some theories, strange similarities can be found across many cultures on Earth.
One example is a concept sometimes called the “135 degrees east civilization” theory. From what are said to be the oldest civilizations to the modern age, human beings have lived by creating a concept of “time.” The standard time that defines that time, according to this theory, has repeatedly been tied to the center of civilization.
The curious claim is that these centers of standard time shift by 22.5 degrees, almost as if by agreement. From west to east, the pattern is said to move in a clean 1,611-year cycle. Examples often mentioned include Greek and Roman civilization, the Indus region, Tang China, and Anglo-Saxon culture in Europe.
If this rule is followed, then the next cultural center would supposedly fall on 135 degrees east longitude—the line used in Japan’s standard time, passing through Akashi City in Hyogo Prefecture. This point is still unconfirmed as a theory, of course.
Could a pattern like this have happened by pure chance for 6,400 years?
There are also theories about out-of-place artifacts, as well as possible connections between ancient Japan, the ancient Celts, and ancient Egypt. The idea is that something much larger than our ordinary senses may exist, and that everything may be moving according to a single law. From that point of view, perhaps it is not so strange to imagine the world as deeply connected.
Earth’s Self-Cleansing System: Could Humanity Disappear?
If Earth is one enormous living organism, then it may also have a self-cleansing function.
Just as the human body has an immune system, it may not be impossible to imagine Earth having a mechanism that removes what it does not need. Humans currently stand at the top among living things on this planet. But what if, from the perspective of the larger organism called Earth, human beings are recognized as the most overgrown and harmful presence?
What would happen to us then?
If all life on Earth is part of one organism and constantly influencing one another, then humans may be considered harmful. We destroy environments and push other animals toward extinction. In that sense, one theory suggests that humanity may resemble harmful bacteria inside the great body of Earth.
If so, Earth’s self-cleansing process might eventually lead to humanity’s extinction.
In the human body, immune cells fight when harmful bacteria or viruses invade. So what would Earth’s immune cells be? There are many theories, but some people suggest that viruses may be one possibility. Abnormal weather, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions might also be interpreted as part of this self-cleansing process.
Viruses such as Ebola and new strains of influenza are made of a protein shell and nucleic acid inside. Bacteria are tiny living organisms, but viruses do not have cells or cell membranes. That makes it difficult to say clearly whether they are “alive” in the usual sense.
Because viruses do not have their own cells, they enter the cells of other living things and multiply there. They are completely different from bacteria, which reproduce on their own.
Viruses appear in many places across the world. If they were created as part of Earth’s self-cleansing process, then perhaps humanity could someday be wiped out. This is only an occult interpretation, not a scientific conclusion—but it is a chilling thought.
What Is Superconsciousness?
Another idea that cannot be ignored when discussing the Gaia theory is “superconsciousness.”
Superconsciousness means a vast awareness that transcends our ordinary senses and common sense. To put it very simply, it is something like “God.”
There are many theories about this superconsciousness. Some people say that connecting with it can bring happiness. Others say that if humanity ever becomes able to recognize it, Earth itself will end.
One view says that by perceiving superconsciousness, people could see everything on Earth more clearly and become happier. Another view says that Earth exists under this superconsciousness as part of a grand experiment—and the moment we notice it, everything ends. For that reason, some say it should never be touched.
There is no way to prove which idea is correct, or whether superconsciousness exists at all.
Even so, despite living in such a digital age, human beings still believe in the existence of “God.” And that analog sense of the divine is something humanity has carried since ancient times.
A World That Was Connected All Along?
The Gaia theory, the 135 degrees east culture theory, and superconsciousness all make for an enormous topic. But if we set aside fixed assumptions and think calmly, it may not feel like pure fantasy.
The possibility of superconsciousness, connections between cultures and civilizations across generations, and Earth’s self-cleansing function—try applying these ideas little by little to events you have seen around you.
At the root of the Gaia theory is a higher-dimensional idea: the planet Earth itself is one gigantic living organism.
And when you think about it, don’t you sometimes feel that Earth as a whole is moving?
Take earthquakes, for example. We know they occur when plates beneath the seafloor shift. But depending on how you look at it, that movement could also be seen as the “skin of the Earth” shifting.
The Gaia theory has been introduced in many books, so if this subject interests you, it may be worth exploring further. Whether you see it as ecology, philosophy, or something closer to the occult, it offers a strangely unsettling way to imagine the planet beneath our feet.

突然ですが…「 ガイア理論 」ってご存知ですか?。「あぁ、あの有名なドキュメント番組の…」とそちらではなく、ガイア理論…とは、気象学者アンドリューワトソンなどが支持しているひとつの理論のことで。「 地球の生物や環境をひとつの生命体 」として考えるというもの。つまり、地球のすべてのものがつながっていてお互いに影響を与えあっていたという考え方の事です。ガイア仮説と呼ばれることもあるのですが、最近ではよくエコロジー関係のことで使用されているようです。
ですが、ここはオカルトオンライン！エコロジーではなく、 オカルト視点でこのガイア理論を見ていきましょう。。公開日：2019年10月6日 更新日：2020年1月30日 。生命体はずっと前から影響し合っていた?。。地球上のすべてのものを「ひとつの生命体」として考える…まぁ、言っていることは解らなくもありませんが、どうしても「 でも地球にはいろんな文化があるし、いろんな人がいるし…ひとつじゃないでしょ 」って思ってしまうもの。それは、確かにその通りです。
ですが、地球上のあらゆる文化に奇妙な共通点があるんです。。東経135度文明というのですが、地球上で最古と言われている文明から現代に至るまで、人は「時間」という概念を形成して生活していました。その時間を確定させる「標準時」は常に文明の中心だったわけです。。そして、不思議なことにその文明の標準時は「22.5度」ずつずれているんです。まるでお約束したように…ヨーロッパなどがある西から東に向かって、1611年周期で綺麗にずれていきます。ギリシャ・ローマからインダス、唐、そして、アングロサクソン文化があるヨーロッパ。
。。そして、この法則に乗っ取ると、次の文化の中心地にあたるのは、私たち日本人が使用している兵庫県明石市の東経135度になるはず(ここはまだ未確定)。6400年前から単なる偶然でこんな現象が起きるでしょうか。。。これ以外にも、オーパーツの存在や、古代日本と古代ケルトそして、古代エジプトとの繋がりがあるという説もあります。つまり、私たちの感覚よりはるかに大きな存在の何かがあって、すべてはひとつの法則に乗っ取って動いている… そう考えることはそんなに不自然なことではないのです。
。地球の自浄作用…人類は滅びてしまう?。。地球がひとつの大きな生命体だとすると、当然、自浄作用があるはすです。私たちの身体に免疫があるように、地球にも「 いらないもの 」を排除する作用があっても不思議ではありません。そして、地球上の生命体の中で今、トップに立っているのが人間なわけですが地球という大きな生命体からみたときに、 私たち人間が「最も繁殖している有害なもの」として認識 されていたら…。人類はどうなってしまうのでしょうか。。。地球という惑星のあらる生命体はひとつの生命体であって、お互いに影響しあっている…という考え方に立てば人類は有害な生命体かもしれません。
環境は破壊するし、他の動物を絶滅危させるわけですから。。つまり地球という大きな身体の中で、 人類はまるで悪玉菌みたいなものではないか という説があるのです。。だとすれば、地球の自浄作用で人類はいずれ絶滅してしまうかもしれないということです。人の身体であれば、悪玉菌やウイルスが侵入したら免疫細胞が闘ってくれるわけですが、地球の免疫細胞…もちろん、いろんな説はありますが、ウイルスはそのひとつではないかと言われているんです。そして、異常気象や地震、噴火なんかもその自浄作用のひとつかもしれない…。
。エボラウイルスや新型インフルエンザ、などのウイルスって「タンパク質の殻とその内部にの核酸」で構成されているもの。細菌は小さな生命体ですが、ウイルスって細胞や細胞幕がないんです。つまり、生命体かと言われると微妙といったところ。。細胞を自分でもっていないからウイルスは他の生命体の細胞に入り込んで増殖する…自分で増えていく細菌とは全く別物というわけです。いたるところでいろんなウイルスが発生していますが、もしこれが地球の自浄作用でできたものだとしたら… 人類は滅びてしまうかもしれない ということです。
超意識ってなに?。。ガイア理論を語る上でもうひとつ忘れてはいけないのが「 超意識 」です。超意識とは、私たちの常識や感覚を超越した大きな意識のこと…すごく簡単に言うと「神様」みたいのものです。実はこの超意識に関しては、いろんな説があって「 繋がると幸せになれる 」という人もいますし「 それを認識できるようになったら地球は終わる 」という人もあります。超意識を認識すると、地球上のすべてのことがもっと良く見えるようになって幸せになれるという考え方と、そもそも地球は超意識の下に存在している壮大な実験施設だから気づいた瞬間にすべてが終わる…だから触れてはいけないという人もいます。
。。どちらが正しいのか、そもそも超意識が存在しているのかを確かめる術はありません。ですが、こんなにデジタルな世の中になってもなお、人は「神」という存在を信じています。そして「神」というアナログな感覚は古代からずっと人類が持っている意識でもあります。。世界は実はつながっていた?!ガイア理論のまとめ。。ガイア理論と東経135度文化…そして、超意識とかなり壮大な話しでしたが、固定概念を捨てて冷静に考えてみると「ただの妄想ではない」ことが解ります。
超意識の存在や世代を超えた文化や文明の繋がり…そして地球の自浄作用…今まで自分の身の回りであったことを少しずつ当てはめてみましょうか…。地球は全て繋がっている？ガイア理論の凄さとは？。ガイア理論の根本にあるのは、「地球」という惑星が1つの巨大な生命体であるという、超次元的な理論がもとになっています。しかし、実際によく考えてみると地球は全体的に動いていることって意外と身近に感じてませんか？。例えば、地震。地震は海底にあるプレートがズレることによって発生することは知られていますが、これも考え方次第では「地球の皮膚」が動いているとも考えられますよね。
