English Version

Mandarado Ruins in Zushi, Kanagawa, is said to have a lingering ghost story connected to Japan’s medieval past.

According to local rumors, the spirits of samurai who lost their lives in battle have been seen in the area. There are also stories of a child’s ghost appearing near a fenced-off well nearby.

Mandarado was built during the Kamakura period as a dense burial site. As for the well where the child’s spirit is said to appear, the story goes that long ago, a child fell into the well and died.

The site is associated with the area around 4-chome Kuki, Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. If you visit, respect all fences, signs, and restricted areas, and do not enter unsafe or off-limits locations.
