犬鳴峠 とは、福岡県宮若市と福岡県糟屋郡久山町との境（犬鳴山）をまたいで存在している峠のことを指します。

久山町側 はトンネルには行きやすいのですが、先ほど書いた通り、防犯上の理由で 閉鎖 されています。
柵で通行止めになっているほか、防犯カメラも設置され、 不法侵入者は警察に通報される というむねの看板が立っています。

宮若市側（犬鳴ダム側） の旧道は、開閉式の柵があり車の通行が規制されています。
一見、通行止めに見えるのですが、実は犬鳴山の河原之河内(かわらんこうち)から続く登山道がここにつながっているため、 登山者なら登山道として通ることが許可されています 。
車で行くなら、 犬鳴ダムの駐車場 を利用しましょう。
