The modern image of the U.S. military and aliens is often said to begin with the Roswell incident. For decades, stories like this were treated as classic fringe material, the kind of mystery often replayed on occult variety shows in Japan and beyond.
But in one sense, that era may have been a turning point. As government records were declassified and more official material became public, long-running rumors about UFOs, abductions, and strange animal deaths began to look less easy to dismiss outright. The U.S. government has consistently avoided linking these cases to extraterrestrials, yet many of the most famous reports seem to cluster around America.
The Rise of Abduction Stories
Despite the official position that there was no connection between aliens and the United States, one of the most famous alleged abduction cases occurred in September 1961. Betty and Barney Hill, a married couple from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, claimed they had been taken by beings from a UFO.
This case is widely described as the first major modern alien abduction story.
After that, many of the best-known abduction accounts also came from the United States. These include the Travis Walton case in Arizona, the story involving Sergeant Moody, and the Linda Napolitano case in New York.
Similar stories have been reported in other countries as well, but the number of famous cases in America is unusually high.
Cattle Mutilation and Uneasy Rural Legends
Beginning in the 1960s, another disturbing pattern was reported across parts of the United States: animals found dead under strange conditions.
These cases became known as cattle mutilations. Although “cattle” usually refers to cows, reports also involved horses and sometimes wild animals. The bodies were said to show unnatural cuts, missing organs, removed sexual organs, and, in some accounts, a complete lack of blood.
To many local residents, these did not look like ordinary natural deaths. Some skeptics suggested scavengers or predators, but believers argued that the wounds appeared too clean and that the reported absence of blood was difficult to explain.
Soon, UFO rumors became attached to the phenomenon. Some witnesses claimed to have seen cattle being taken up into UFOs, while others said they saw animals being dropped or discarded from the sky.
By this point, UFOs had become almost a part of everyday American folklore.
A Long List of Sightings
When it comes to sightings, the United States has so many famous examples that UFO lore can almost feel like one of the country’s strange specialties.
The modern wave is often traced to the 1947 Kenneth Arnold sighting. After that, commercial and military aviation reports became part of the legend: Eastern Air Lines in 1948, Pan Am in 1952, British Overseas Airways Corporation in 1954, and Japan Airlines in 1986.
These sightings were reported over American skies or nearby waters.
There are also cases known for both radar and visual confirmation, sometimes called radar-visual sightings. Examples include reports from Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, in 1951, and Texas in 2008.
Even some famous radar-visual cases outside the United States have a U.S. military connection. The 1956 Lakenheath incident in England and the 1976 Tehran UFO incident in Iran both occurred overseas, yet U.S. military personnel or systems were involved in the wider story.
For UFO believers, this has made the connection between the U.S. military and unidentified aerial phenomena feel impossible to ignore.
The U.S. Military Acknowledges UFO Videos
Then, in September 2019, shocking news spread through the UFO community. The U.S. government officially acknowledged that several military videos showing unidentified flying objects, or unidentified aerial phenomena, were genuine military footage.
The videos were connected to incidents reported in different years, including 2009, 2015, and another case with unclear details.
This did not mean the U.S. government confirmed alien spacecraft. Officials did not say the objects were extraterrestrial. Still, for many people, the admission was historic: the government was no longer simply denying that strange aerial objects had been captured on military video.
Around the same period, the Trump administration also announced the creation of the U.S. Space Force.
To UFO enthusiasts, the timing felt meaningful. Perhaps, they wondered, a day might come when the U.S. government reveals far more than it has so far admitted.
A New Era Just Ahead?
As the idea of extraterrestrial life becomes less unthinkable in mainstream conversation, the future may feel closer than ever. Whether these stories are evidence, misunderstanding, military secrecy, folklore, or something stranger, they continue to shape how people imagine the unknown above us.
Many places connected to UFO legends are real communities or military-related areas. If you visit them, stay in public areas, respect private property, and never attempt to enter restricted sites.

ロズウェル事件 から始まった、宇宙人と米軍の関係。一般には眉唾ものとされて、日本のオカルト系バラエティ番組でもよく取り上げられていました。しかし、それはある意味時代の過渡期でのこと。米軍の公文書の公開期限と、そして、隠しきれなくなった真実は、米軍と宇宙人の間違いや認識を次々と明らかにしていったのです。アブダクトとミューティレーション、そして UFO の目撃。。頑なに宇宙人との関連を否定するアメリカ。しかし、宇宙人の驚異は、何故かアメリカに集中して起こるという現象が生まれてきます。
相次ぐアブダクション。宇宙人とアメリカになんの関係もない。そんな政府の公式見解とは裏腹に 1961 年 9 月ニューハンプシャー州のポーツマス在住であったベティ・ヒルとバーニーヒルの夫妻がともに宇宙人に連れ去られてるという事件が勃発。これが 一般に宇宙人によるアブダクション（誘拐）の初事例 とされているのです。その後もアリゾナ州でトラヴィス・ウォルトン＆ムーディ軍曹事件、ニューヨークでリンダ・ナポリターノ事件など主要なアブダクションはほとんど米国で起きてきます。
もちろん他の国でも発生していないわけではないのですが、アメリカでの発生件数は突出して多いのです。人間以外も被害になったミューティレーション。。また 1960 年代より、アメリカでは動物が謎の変死体となって発見される事例が多く報告され始めます。それこそがキャトルミューティレーション、キャトルとは一般に家畜の牛のことを指しますが、野生動物から多くは馬などが不自然な切断（ミューティレーション）死体として見つかり始めたのです。。その特徴は、鋭利な刃物で切られた腹、切断された性器、完全な血抜き、そして内臓の消失。
とてものこと自然死によって出来上がった死体とは思われず（一説には野生動物が食べたあとという説があるが、なぜそんなに”きれいに”食べたのかの説明はなく、また血抜きの意味もない）周辺住民の不安を煽ったのです。そして、そこに UFO の関連が疑われるようになりました。なぜなら、 UFO に連れ去られる牛の目撃例や、反対に UFO から廃棄される牛の目撃例が、多く報告され始めたからです。もはや、アメリカにとって UFO は日常となっていました。
止まることない目撃例。。目撃例に至っては、アメリカの名産と疑いたくなるほど、集中して起きています。1047 年のケネス・アーノルド事件を皮切りに 1948 年イースタン航空、 1952 年パンナム航空、 1954 年英国海外航空、 1986 年には JAL 、などが航空から UFO を目視。。すべてアメリカ上空及び近海での目撃です。また、より確度の高いレーダーと目視の両方で行われる目視である RV も、 1951 年ニュージャージー州フォートマンモス、 2008 年のテキサス州などで目撃例があります。
そして特筆すべきはこの RV 事案の海外での例です。有名な事件で言えば、 1956 年のレイクンヒース事件や 1976 年のテヘラン UFO 交戦事件 などは、アメリカ国外の出来事ですが、何故かこの両件には米軍が関わっているのです。もはや米軍と宇宙人の関わりは疑いの余地もなくなったと言っていいでしょう。UFO を認めた米軍とトランプ政権。。そして 2019 年 09 月衝撃的なニュースが飛び込みます。それは 2009 年 2015 年そして詳細不明の 3 つの UFO らしきものが写った米軍の動画を、米政府が「本物である」と公式に認めた のです。
そう、それは UFO がアメリカ政府公認となった瞬間です。もちろん米政府はそれを「宇宙人の乗り物」とまでは言及していませんが、それが地球の科学力ではないことは明白。時を同じくして、アメリカトランプ政権は「宇宙軍の創設」も発表もしています。。もしかしたら数年伍、アメリカ政府はこれませのすべてを認める日が来るのかもしれません。すぐそこに新しい時代が。宇宙人の存在が現実味を帯びてきた今。地球外生命体と向き合う未来は、もうすぐそこに来ているのかもしれませんよ
