Along National Route 112 in the Torizuka area of Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, there is a short but unsettling rumor about a ghost seen as only a pair of legs.
The apparition is said to resemble a child from the waist down, wearing denim and sneakers. No upper body is visible.
Some believe it may be the spirit of someone who died in an accident and now wanders the roadside, but the details are unknown.
If you pass through this area, treat it as an ordinary public road: do not stop in unsafe places, block traffic, or wander onto private property.
