English Version
On the road to the Kajika trailhead, you pass the Tokiwa Youth Nature House. Around this stretch, some visitors say the air feels unusually heavy, or that a sudden chill comes over them for no clear reason.
Kamakura-dake is scenic enough to be listed among both the 100 Famous Mountains of Tohoku and the 100 Famous Flower Mountains. Even so, darker stories are attached to the area. One rumor says that a battle was fought here long ago.
There is also a story from the Pacific War era. Children and teachers who had been evacuated to this area are said to have become lost here and disappeared.
The site is associated with 102 Hagidaira, Yamane, Tokiwa-machi, Tamura City, Fukushima Prefecture. If you visit, treat it as a real mountain area: check the weather, stay on marked routes, avoid entering restricted property or facilities, and do not hike alone or after dark.
