The former Kasagi Tourist Hotel in Kasagi, Kyoto Prefecture, is surrounded by numerous ghost stories and urban legends. It is often said to be a place where paranormal footage is unusually easy to capture.
According to local rumors, the hotel was once a thriving business. However, after a competing facility opened nearby, it reportedly struggled financially and eventually went bankrupt. After that, it is said that the owner died by self-immolation.
Among the best-known stories are sightings of the owner’s ghost and the ghost of a woman said to appear in the machine room on the rooftop. There have also been reports of an elderly woman’s spirit.
At one time, a psychic reportedly commented that the place was dangerous because “too many negative thoughts have gathered there.”
The site is associated with Kasagi Pass in Kasagi Town, Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture. If you are interested in haunted locations like this, be careful: abandoned buildings and restricted properties can be structurally unsafe and may be off-limits.
