Kurose Hospital is said to be a haunted spot in Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, with rumors of footsteps echoing inside the building.
Other stories claim that someone can be seen peering out through the window glass, or that a figure stands on the rooftop and waves. None of these accounts are confirmed, but they have helped give the abandoned-looking hospital an unsettling reputation among local ghost-story fans.
One of the more ominous rumors involves the trip home. According to the tale, if you look into your car’s rearview mirror or a roadside convex mirror after leaving the hospital and notice a human silhouette there, you may later be struck by a high fever.
No clear reason has been given for the alleged paranormal activity. Perhaps, because it was a hospital, the building is simply imagined as a place that draws in all kinds of unwelcome forces.
The location is associated with Kurose Kirita-ga-oka 1-chome 12-9, Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture. If visiting the area, do not enter private property or unsafe structures, and be especially careful not to distract yourself while driving.
