Kagamiyama Park in Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, is rumored to have a strange and unsettling atmosphere. Some visitors say they have heard what sounds like a man groaning somewhere in the area.
Among the places said to be especially intense are the memorial monument near the shrine, a well along the hiking route to the old castle ruins, and the castle ruins at the summit. These spots are sometimes described in local rumors as spiritually powerful, and possibly dangerous, places.
The park is located around 333 Kagamiyama-kita, Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture. If you visit, treat the shrine, memorial, trails, and ruins with respect. Stay on marked paths, avoid going at night or in bad weather, and do not enter restricted or unsafe areas.
