Ichiryu Ryokan is a rumored haunted spot in Mizuma, Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture. According to local stories, a woman can sometimes be seen watching from a second-floor window.
The inn is surrounded by an unusually heavy atmosphere, and several rumors have attached themselves to the place over the years. Some speak of an owner’s suicide, others of a fire, and others of a possible murder. These remain unconfirmed rumors, but they have helped give Ichiryu Ryokan its eerie reputation.
One story says that, long ago, a couple attempted suicide by poison at this inn. As the woman began to suffer, the man reportedly fled, leaving her behind.
If that story is true, some wonder whether the woman who died in agony is still searching for the man who abandoned her.
For travelers and horror fans, treat this as a local legend rather than confirmed history. If you visit the area, do not enter private property or unsafe structures, and observe only from public roads or permitted areas.
