Nanatsubaka, or “Seven Graves,” is a small wooded area said to stand very close to the nearest station in Makishi, Naha. The name reportedly comes from the seven graves that once existed inside the grove.
Local rumor says the ghost of a dead woman appears here.
According to one old story, a woman would often visit a shop near this rocky hill to buy sweets for a child. She paid with money, but by the next day, the coins or bills had somehow turned into scraps of paper. Finding this strange, the shopkeeper decided to follow her one day.
The woman is said to have walked back to the graves and disappeared inside one of them.
In another version of the tale, when someone looked into the grave, they saw a baby beside the dead woman, quietly sucking on a piece of candy.
The location is generally associated with the area around 1-chome, Makishi, Naha City, Okinawa, sometimes cited as near 1-19 to 1-22. Because this story is connected to graves and a real urban neighborhood, visitors should be respectful: do not enter private property, disturb graves, or explore unsafe areas, especially at night.

死んだ女性の幽霊がでるという噂がある。最寄駅すぐの小さな森。この森の中に七つの墓があったことが名称の由来。かつて、この岩山近くのお店に子供のお菓子を買う女性が度々現れたという話がある。代金として支払うお金が、翌日には紙切れに変わるので不思議に思った店主がある日その女性の後をつけていくと、墓の中に入っていた。墓の中を覗いてみると死んだ女性の傍らで赤ん坊が飴をしゃぶっていたという話もあるとのこと。沖縄県那覇市牧志1丁目19?22
