English Version

A Wartime Cemetery Near Central Hiroshima

Hijiyama Army Cemetery is located on Hijiyama, close to the center of Hiroshima City, in Minami Ward near Hijiyama Park.

According to local rumors, visitors who come at night may hear the sound of footsteps, as if a group of soldiers is marching nearby. Another story claims that the ghost of a soldier with a badly burned or disfigured face has been seen in the area.

Because this is a real cemetery and a place connected to war dead, it should be treated with respect. If you visit, go during appropriate hours, stay on public paths, avoid disturbing graves or memorials, and do not enter restricted areas. Night visits are not recommended, especially for travelers unfamiliar with the area.
