Wakasu Seaside Park: Tokyo Bay Park Linked to a Dark Urban Legend

The Toi Invasion: The Sea Raid That Devastated Tsushima and Iki
目次

English Version

Wakasu Seaside Park in Tokyo’s Koto Ward is now a bright, open waterfront park, but it is also connected to a grim rumor.

Some people say the spirit of a young woman appears here, bringing to mind the victim of the infamous high school girl concrete-encasement murder case. The crime took place between November 1988 and January 1989, and the victim’s body was abandoned in this area.

Today, the site has the atmosphere of a normal seaside park, but in 1989 it was reportedly just an empty lot. That contrast between the current calm scenery and the area’s tragic history is part of why the story continues to be repeated.

Location: 3-1 Wakasu, Koto City, Tokyo.

If you visit, remember that this is a real public place connected to a real tragedy. Please be respectful, follow park rules and opening hours, and do not enter restricted areas.
