English Version
In Minami-Shinagawa, Tokyo, there is said to be a memorial tower connected to a tragic railway accident from the Taisho era.
According to local accounts, the tower was built to pray for two railroad crossing guards who took their own lives after feeling deeply responsible for the Himonya Crossing accident, which occurred in May 1918.
Rumors about the area are quiet but unsettling. Some people claim that when they pass the road in front of the memorial late at night, they hear laughter even though no one is there. Others say they have heard footsteps following them, only to turn around and find an empty street.
The reported location is around 4-8-1 Minami-Shinagawa, Shinagawa City, Tokyo. If you visit, do so respectfully, avoid late-night wandering, and do not enter private property or block local roads.
