The Former Daikokuya Department Store in Iwaki: Elevator Accident and Ghost Rumors

The Haunted Elevator Rumors of Susukino Lafiler in Sapporo
目次

English Version

Years ago, when the Daikokuya department store still operated here, a fatal accident reportedly occurred during elevator maintenance. According to the story, a worker was crushed while inspecting or repairing the elevator.

After Daikokuya closed, the building was turned into a wedding venue. However, rumors of ghost sightings are said to have continued, with reports linked to the old accident.

Whether those rumors had anything to do with it is unclear, but the site later changed again and is now a funeral business.

The reported location of the fatal elevator accident is 15 Nakamachi, Taira, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture. If you visit the area, remember that this is associated with an active business and private property, so do not enter restricted areas or disturb anyone working or mourning there.
