English Version

Xavier Park in Kagoshima is rumored to be haunted by the wandering spirit of a blood-covered woman. According to the story, she has a hole in her chest and appears to be searching for her missing heart.

The park itself was built to commemorate the arrival of Francis Xavier in Japan. Inside the park are a monument and a bust of Xavier, making it a small historical spot as well as a place connected to local ghost rumors.

No one seems to know exactly why this spirit is said to appear here. The most common version of the rumor simply says that the ghost continues to roam the area, looking for her heart.

Location: 4-1 Higashisengokucho, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture

If you visit, treat the park as a public historical site: go during normal hours, be respectful, and avoid disturbing nearby residents or other visitors.
