Did Yamatai Move East? Kyushu, Kansai, and the Ancient Mystery Behind Emperor Jimmu’s Conquest

English Version

At the former Higashi-Nippon Gakuen University site in Onbetsu, Kushiro, Hokkaido, several eerie stories have been passed around.

Visitors have reported seeing a white shadow in the hallway. Others say they saw lights on inside a classroom, even though the building was supposedly without electricity. Another account describes someone walking along a narrow road when a high-pitched sound seemed to come closer and closer.

According to local rumor, a traffic accident that killed five people once occurred in this area. Some believe the strange experiences may be connected to that tragedy, though this remains only speculation.

The location is listed as around 630-200 Nakaonbetsu, Onbetsu-cho, Kushiro City, Hokkaido. If you go near the area, do not enter abandoned buildings or private property, and be especially careful on narrow roads and in low visibility.
