Sankakuten Observatory, also known as Wako Observatory, is a viewpoint located in Nishine, Kanegasaki Town, Isawa District, Iwate Prefecture.
According to local rumors, people who visit late at night sometimes claim that when they try to get out of their car, their ankles suddenly feel icy cold, as if someone has grabbed them. Others say that even people who do not consider themselves spiritually sensitive can feel an unsettling presence here.
The place is also said to be connected to a hanging suicide that allegedly occurred at the observatory, though this remains a rumor rather than a confirmed account.
If you visit, especially after dark, be mindful of road conditions, visibility, and local rules. Do not enter restricted areas or disturb nearby residents.
