The Okehazama Battlefield Legendary Site in Toyoake, Aichi, is known as a place connected to famous Sengoku-period warlords and has become a historical sightseeing spot. At the same time, it is also surrounded by grim ghost stories tied to the battlefield’s violent past.
Many accounts describe apparitions wearing armor. In some stories, the figures are missing arms or legs. Others claim to have seen a spirit walking while carrying its own severed head, or a warrior in a state of panic with a spear still stuck through his body. Some visitors say the atmosphere can feel as if they have slipped into the chaos of the battle itself.
Because there have long been reports of fallen warriors appearing in the area, a nearby temple was built and many Jizo statues were enshrined. Even so, stories of restless spirits said to have died with regrets have reportedly continued.
As a former battlefield, the site is often described in local rumor as a place where many spirits still wander. For travelers, it is best approached as both a historic memorial and a folklore spot: visit respectfully, stay on public paths, avoid disturbing religious objects or graves, and do not enter restricted areas.

鎧を身につけた霊を見たとう人も多く、腕や足がないのは当たり前で、首を持って歩いている霊を見たり、槍が身体に刺さった状態でパニックになっている姿や、当時の戦時中の光景の中にいるような感覚になる。多くの落ち武者の目撃情報から、近くにお寺を建てられ、多くのお地蔵さまを祀ったものの、無念で亡くなった霊の目撃情報も後を絶えない。戦場の跡地ということもあり、多くの霊がここを彷徨っている。戦国武将のゆかりの地として有名で観光地となっている。愛知県豊明市栄町南舘11
