Hiroshima’s “Suicide Apartment” and the Elevator That Moves Alone

The Haunted Elevator Rumors of Susukino Lafiler in Sapporo
目次

English Version

An apartment building known as Heights Nansuien in Ujina-Kanda, Minami Ward, Hiroshima City, is tied to several unsettling local rumors. People say its elevator sometimes moves between floors even when no one is inside.

The building is said to have been the site of a past death by jumping. In more recent years, another jumping incident reportedly occurred from a neighboring building as well. Because of that, some have whispered that a spirit may be “calling” people there—but this remains only a rumor.

The location faces a busy main road, so it does not seem isolated at first. Yet according to the stories, the area becomes suddenly quiet at night, giving the apartment block a distinct, unnerving atmosphere.

For travelers and urban-legend fans, remember that this is a residential area. Do not enter private property, disturb residents, or visit in a way that creates safety risks. If you pass through Ujina-Kanda, keep any visit respectful and limited to public streets.
