English Version

Iriki Pass is a mountain road in Iriki-cho Uranomyo, Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

According to local rumors, a terrifying female apparition has been seen near a vending machine by a curve in the pass. Witnesses describe her as standing there silently, soaking wet, with blood around her mouth.

Many of the reported sightings seem to happen on rainy days. Whether the story is a ghost tale, a roadside rumor, or something else, drivers passing through Iriki Pass in bad weather should be especially careful. The curves, rain, and low visibility are real hazards, regardless of what may or may not be waiting by the vending machine.
