Haritsukemono-zaka: The Haunted Crucifixion Slope of Kagoshima

Yasuhiro Nakasone: Japan’s “Young Officer” Prime Minister and the Rumors Around JAL Flight 123
目次

English Version

It is said that drivers feel a chill run down their spine when they pass along this road.

According to local rumor, this was once a place where many condemned criminals were crucified and died about 600 years ago. Some of them may have been falsely accused, dying with deep resentment and regret.

Perhaps their attachment to this world was too strong to let go.

The place is associated with the area around 3-chome 4, Daimyogaoka, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. If you visit, treat it as a local residential area: stay on public roads, do not trespass, avoid stopping in unsafe places, and be respectful of nearby residents.
