The Horror of Brainwashing: Mind-Control Tactics That Can Happen Before You Notice

English Version

Niiyama Tunnel is a little-known haunted spot said to be located around Niiyama, Omonogawa-machi, Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, near Prefectural Route 48.

According to local rumors, if you honk your horn inside the tunnel, a red handprint will appear on the windshield. Another story claims that an accident may happen on the way home after visiting.

There are also accounts of strange figures appearing in photos taken there. Most stories describe a black shadow, though some people have reportedly seen a red shadow as well.

The tunnel is said to be blocked off, and it is difficult to find. Details about its current condition and the origin of the rumors are unclear.

If you try to look for the area, do not enter closed tunnels, restricted land, or unsafe roads. Rural tunnel sites can be unstable, poorly marked, and dangerous, especially at night or in bad weather.
