Takamatsu Pond in Morioka, Iwate, is said to be connected with several ghost stories, including rumors of suicide victims, fallen warriors, and the spirit of a young boy.
According to local accounts, a hanging suicide once occurred on the mountain on the west side of the pond. Because of this, some people claim that spirits connected to suicide may appear in the area.
Other stories point to the mountains on the east side, deeper in the woods, where the Nanbu family cemetery is located. This is the place most often associated with sightings of fallen warriors and the ghost of a boy.
The reported location is around 1-chome, Takamatsu, Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. If you visit the area, stay on public paths, respect any graves or private property, and avoid entering wooded or cemetery areas at night.
