This story is associated with Mount Kuromori in the Oogayu area of Morioka, Iwate Prefecture.
According to local rumor, two very young sisters may appear walking together hand in hand. At first, they look close and affectionate. But if they notice you, they are said to turn toward you with faces crushed beyond recognition and begin coming closer.
The warning in the legend is simple: do not let them catch you, and do not let them speak to you. It is said that anyone who is stopped and addressed by the sisters may be taken to the other world. If you see them, the story says, you should run immediately.
There is also a rumor that the decomposed bodies of two young sisters were once found somewhere in this area, though this remains only an unverified story.
The location is said to be around 2-chiwari 12, Oogayu, Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. If visiting, stay on public roads or marked trails, avoid private property, and do not explore unsafe mountain areas at night.
