English Version
Shoichii Ishikura Inari Shrine is said to stand along a main agricultural road in Hakodate, Hokkaido.
According to local rumors, touching a large rock on the shrine grounds may bring misfortune. Other stories whisper of the ghost of an old woman appearing there, a severed head flying above the torii gate, and mysterious handprints left on cars.
Some also say that anyone who visits the shrine as a joke, or treats it like a thrill-seeking game, may be cursed.
These are only rumors and local ghost stories, but if you visit any shrine or rural site in Japan, be respectful, avoid entering restricted areas, and do not disturb residents or private property.
