English Version

Aiyoshi Tunnel is located in Chikuhoku Village, Higashichikuma District, Nagano Prefecture.

The tunnel is said to have an unsettling atmosphere even at first glance, with rough, exposed rock surfaces that give the area a harsh and eerie feel.

According to local rumors, there was once an incident in which the dismembered bodies of a parent and child were found here. Because of that story, some people claim they have heard a voice calling out, “Help me.”

As with many haunted-location rumors, the details are difficult to verify, but Aiyoshi Tunnel remains known among ghost-story fans as a place with a particularly grim reputation.

If you visit, do so safely and respectfully. Avoid entering restricted areas, do not block traffic, and be especially cautious around tunnels, narrow roads, and unstable rock surfaces.
