English Version
Washuzan is a scenic area in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, but it also has a quieter ghost story attached to one of its old roads.
Back when the road passing through this area was still a toll road, a rumor spread among late-night drivers: if you drove there after midnight, you might see the ghost of a man standing at the toll booth, half of his face reduced to white bone.
The exact cause behind the alleged haunting does not appear to have ever been confirmed, and the story remains only a local rumor.
The area is associated with the address around 1-2 Shimotsui Tanoura, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. If you visit, go during safe hours, follow local traffic rules, and do not enter restricted or private areas.
