Old Suikai Tunnel: White Hands and Human Pillar Rumors in Miyagi

Mindit: A Dangerous Japanese Internet Legend About Time Leaping
目次

English Version

Old Suikai Tunnel is said to be located along the Motoyoshi Highway in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture.

Rumors about the tunnel include stories of a pale white hand reaching out from the wall, as well as claims that the area is a frequent traffic accident spot. Some people also say they have felt sudden chills or an unsettling coldness while passing through.

One darker rumor says that workers who died during construction were used as human pillars, with their bodies supposedly buried inside the tunnel walls. As with many haunted-road legends, these stories remain rumors rather than confirmed history.

If you visit the area, treat it as a real road location: do not trespass, avoid entering any closed or unsafe areas, and be especially careful around traffic.
