Mitsui Ohashi Bridge in Obuchi, Midori Ward, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is associated with a number of unsettling local rumors.
People have reported seeing mysterious balls of fire drifting along the lakeshore, and even multiple hands reaching up from the surface of the water. Another story tells of a woman seen on the bridge who gets into a car, only to vanish after a short while.
There are also rumors that if you look down into the lake at night, you may feel as if something is trying to drag you in. Other accounts describe people suddenly being pushed in the back while walking, despite no one being behind them. Sightings of a white human-like figure are also said to be common.
Because suicides have reportedly continued in the area, a fence about two meters high has been installed on the bridge.
If you visit, treat it as a real public location rather than an attraction: do not climb fences, lean over the edge, enter restricted areas, or go alone late at night. Respect local residents and traffic, and view the stories as rumors rather than confirmed events.
