Kasumigaura Branch Hospital is said to be home to many wandering spirits.
The site was reportedly used as a soldiers’ base during World War II. After the war, it became a tuberculosis treatment facility connected to a university hospital, but the inpatient facilities were later closed.
Since then, rumors have claimed that the spirits of nurses and the restless souls of patients who were hospitalized for tuberculosis still wander the area.
The location is associated with Oyama, Miho Village, Inashiki District, Ibaraki Prefecture. If you visit the area, do not enter closed buildings or restricted property, and be respectful of local residents and any posted warnings.
