According to the local story, if you make a phone call here, you may hear a mysterious voice repeating something like, “accident, accident, accident, death.” The phrase is unsettling, and one person says a friend of theirs claimed to have heard it as well.
There is also a rumor that spirits connected to Shimizusawa Tunnel may be coming to this area, though this is only local hearsay.
If you visit, stay on public roads, do not block traffic, and avoid stopping inside or near tunnels where visibility is poor. Treat the area respectfully and prioritize safety over ghost hunting.
