Jin-niku-kan, literally “Human Meat House,” is the nickname of a former yakiniku restaurant in Asama Onsen, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture.
According to local rumor, the restaurant once struggled financially and could no longer afford to buy meat from regular suppliers. The legend says that, in desperation, it began serving human flesh—an alleged story that is said to be the origin of its unsettling name.
Today, the site is reportedly covered in barbed wire. Some people claim that if you stand nearby, you can hear human voices drifting from deep inside the property, mixed with the sound of the wind.
The place is associated with an address in Asama Onsen 3-chome, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. If you visit the area, do not enter fenced, abandoned, or private property. View only from public roads, respect residents, and avoid going at night or alone.
